Qualifications/

Experience:

• Current Minnesota Special Ed license in ABS or SLD
• Successful background check required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:

• Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching.
• Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior.
• Ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
• Calm demeanor and passion for working with kids.
• Ability to communicate effectively with school staff and parents.
• Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self‑discipline, and honesty.

Specific Tasks:

• Provide special education services to students.
• Work closely with teachers, admin, and support staff to teach students skills and strategies for managing behaviors and working towards using strategies in the mainstream setting.
• Provide an ideal, positive learning environment, instruct students in individual or group sessions, develop, translate, and integrate lesson plans, and establish positive relationships.

Hours Per Day: 7.5 hours/day (as per contract)
