Qualifications/

Experience:

MN Teaching License, or if you have a four-degree you can obtain a Short Call Substitute License from PELSB. Successful background check required. Experience working with children preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed: Knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; ability to establish relationships and maintain standards of behavior; willingness to be flexible with daily schedule changes, and duties unrelated to original assignment. Patience, flexibility, love for children, confidentiality, teamwork, self-starter, take direction easily, excellent communication skills, and behavior management skills. Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty.

Specific Tasks:

• Filling daily vacancies or other duties as assigned, throughout the building.
• Effectively manage students.
• Assume duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher as assigned.
• Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of students during classroom hours.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher.
• Supervise non-classroom duties when assigned.

Hours Per Day: Temporary assignment, for the 26-27 school year only. 7.5 hours per day. Assigned to Cambridge Primary for all student contact days.
