Position: Public Health Nurse
Department: Health and Human Services
Location: Cambridge, MN
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Work Schedule: Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work Setting: On-site; requires regular, in-person attendance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Union Affiliation: Non-Union
Compensation- Expected 2026 Hiring Range: $34.12 – $36.37 per hour ($70,969.60 – $75,649.60 annually), depending on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
- Full Range: $34.12 – $44.07 per hour ($70,696.60 – $91,665.60 annually), with the potential for additional longevity-based pay.

General Definition of WorkPerforms work promoting and protecting health of individuals, families, and communities through teaching, counseling, and applying preventative and rehabilitative measures, providing vaccines to individuals at county clinics, providing direct health care, education, and consultation to members of the community, responding to public health emergencies in a variety of setting, serving as back-up for staff positions, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Work is performed under the direction of the Public Health Supervisor.

- Coordinates a variety of community health programs such as:
- Disease Prevention and Control
- Child and Teen Child-Outreach
- Children's Dental services
- Early Hearing Detection and Intervention

- Assists in all phases of planning, detecting, controlling, and responding to viral pandemic and other health emergencies potentially affecting the public.
