8‑hour permanent evening shifts, every other weekend rotation.
Job DescriptionNursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient’s care needs. Treats patients who are suffering from trauma, injury, or severe medical conditions that require urgent treatment.
Responsibilities- Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising the progress; and modifying the plan of care as needed.
- Maintain education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high‑quality patient care practice and skills.
- Incorporate evidence‑based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care.
- Establish, in collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patient’s present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and plan for continuity of care.
- Identify outcomes that are age‑appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
- Coordinate, collaborate, and delegate appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion.
- Fulfill all organizational requirements.
- Charge Nurse (only when acting in this role):
Demonstrate ability to coordinate, delegate, and direct unit operation, collaborate effectively with unit staff, leadership and other disciplines. - Preceptor (only when acting in this role):
Demonstrate ability to identify the orientee’s learning needs, plan appropriate learning experiences and validate clinical competence of orientee.
- Associate’s or vocational degree.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- ED RN experience.
Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in the state of MN upon hire.
WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire.
Required Certifications- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current ALS certification from the American Red Cross.
- Allina in‑house ACLS training (within 60days of hire).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – Multisource required within 1year.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 180days of hire.
- Other certifications may be required within 1year of hire.
Medium work:
Lifting weight up to 32lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25lbs. frequently.
Pay range: $42.92 to $71.47 per hour. The base hourly pay reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
