Due to our continued success, we are seeking a Staff Accountant in Cambridge, Ohio.
SUMMARY & SCOPE:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and maintenance of financial and operational records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the budget, month-end close and reporting processes, conducting internal audits, and developing and coordinating best-in-class processes for key transactional functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Job Order Entry - includes entering new jobs by reviewing the details of the order to ensure everything is entered into the accounting software accurately, and processing change orders as needed.
- Estimate Entry - includes entering the estimates accurately and timely for each new job into the accounting software.
- Completes account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Assists in the company's month end close and reporting activities.
- Thoroughly investigates any variances and communicates and resolves as appropriate.
- Assists in yearly and quarterly budgets and forecasts and variance analysis.
- Reviews projects committed costs to determine remaining costs to complete.
- Works closely with other finance team members and assists with processing and effective management of other transactional activities as needed.
- Works with and supports other departments including, but not limited to Procurement, Operations, Project Management to assist on completion of daily tasks or projects as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of related experience
- Strong organizational skills, including prioritization and time management
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
- Work with accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office Programs
