Under general direction of the Program Director;
Requires knowledge of I.C.F.D.D. standards of resident care in order to supervise direct care personnel (e.g., therapeutic program workers) and within one living area (e.g. Workshop, Activities);
Serves as team member for policy development for assigned area;
Implementation of the work rules.
Under general direction of the Program Director;
Requires knowledge of ICFDD standards of resident care in order to supervise direct care personnel (e.g. therapeutic program workers) and within one living area. Serves as team member for policy development for assigned area; implementation of the work rules.
Ensures compliance with Medicaid standards;
Works within labor contract rules and resolves labor disputes/matters at first step level;
Informs and refers employees to EAP Coordinator;
Responsible for staff training and in-servicing on new policies, procedures, rules and regulations concerning the assigned area and the customers they serve;
Monitors and ensures proper implementation of Individual Program plans (IPP) for persons with developmental disabilities;
Trains and supervises staff, completes and signs employee performance evaluations;
Assures attendance of direct care staff at team meetings to develop/revise individual habilitation plans for assigned customers;
Responsible for maintaining minimum staffing levels and notifies scheduling of any staff shortages. May discipline staff.
Reviews, logs, investigates written documentation regarding customer behavior responses (e.g., 30 day and annual reviews; customer funds; as they relate to IHP;
May prepare report of the assessment of customer activities participate in IHP Program Meetings;
Review Program records to assure proper procedures have been followed and documented. Attends management meetings, conferences and in-services as required;
Completes census reports; may investigate and report all unusual incidents (e.g., administrative and client);
Reviews and verifies staff accident reports; checks log books to ensure completeness;
Maintains and acquires necessary supplies and equipment (e.g., cleaning supplies, program/activity supplies). May relieve supervisors of other units upon request (e.g., cottages). May participate on special committees geared towards quality service improvement.
Other related job duties.
24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in providing care to patients &/or in participating in development &/or carrying out of patients' habilitation plans & preferably for those who had developmental disabilities or mental disability, & in implementing & carrying out same.
