Job SummaryThe Production Manager leads and oversees all manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and operational performance objectives are achieved. This role is accountable for production planning, workforce leadership, process improvement initiatives, quality control, operational reporting, and manufacturing cost management. Additionally, the position supports capital planning initiatives, preventative maintenance coordination, and manufacturing process enhancements to improve productivity, utilization, and overall operational performance.
Responsibilities- Lead daily manufacturing operations to support safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
- Maintain accountability for manufacturing‑related budgeting, labor efficiency, and operational cost control.
- Build and monitor production schedules, staffing, and workflow to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Promote operational accountability and continuous improvement throughout the production environment.
- Support warranty investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure quality control procedures and manufacturing standards are consistently followed.
- Support incoming inspection activities and product issue resolution as required.
- Lead process improvement initiatives focused on cycle‑time reduction, workflow efficiency, and operational utilization.
- Identify operational constraints and implement solutions to improve throughput and productivity.
- Partner with Product Development and cross‑functional teams to resolve manufacturing and product‑related issues.
- Maintain and report on operational KPIs and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Lead Gemba activities, visual management initiatives, and daily operational communication processes.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and operational procedures.
- Support employee onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management activities.
- Facilitate productivity workshops and continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing teams.
- Support preventative maintenance planning and machine uptime initiatives.
- Assist with work center loading, production capacity planning, and operational forecasting.
- Develop business cases and budget proposals for new capital equipment purchases.
- Support ROI analysis, payback calculations, and justification for CAPEX investments.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout manufacturing operations.
- Support compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Drive workplace organization and visual management initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and safety.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Lead and develop production personnel within the manufacturing operation.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards across production teams.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing leadership experience within an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production workflows, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing production KPIs, operational reporting, and manufacturing budgets.
- Demonstrated experience with quality control systems, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency improvement.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development experience.
- Experience supporting CAPEX planning, ROI analysis, and equipment investment justification.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, manufacturing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
