About the Role
As an EHS Coordinator at Picoma, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will develop, implement, and manage the Environmental, Health, and Safety Program for our Cambridge, OH facility. You will coach, guide, and support the management team to foster a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
This is a full‑time onsite role located in Cambridge, OH. The position is suited for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, enjoys problem solving, and is passionate about continuous improvement in workplace safety and compliance.
What You’ll Do- Provide leadership and coaching on all environmental, health, and safety matters, with emphasis on front‑line supervision.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, verify compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver EHS orientation and ongoing training to new hires and personnel to ensure awareness and safe practices.
- Investigate accidents, near‑misses, and environmental incidents; prepare detailed reports; and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Stay current on OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Ensure proper availability, maintenance, and use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Develop and update Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all positions within the facility.
- Provide regular progress updates through Intelex, email, and other reporting methods.
- Assist in EHS‑related matters across other Zekelman facilities as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, construction safety, or a related role, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
- Associate’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industry hazards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage diverse teams.
- Proficient in safety management software (e.g., EHS Insight or similar).
- Assertive, decisive, and detail‑oriented, with a commitment to promoting a proactive EHS culture.
- OSHA 30‑hour or 10‑hour certification and First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Physical ability to work in a plant environment, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Regular, full‑time onsite attendance required.
