The general role of the Electrical Field Technician - Electrical Services is to perform general labor in all areas of the Field Services division. The work may take place in various industries, including Oil & Gas, Concrete, Electrical, energy, and more.
This individual will be mechanically inclined, will learn the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation, and will be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed, including weekends, holidays, call‑outs, and occasional night shifts. Travel may be required, including overnight stays.
Responsibilities- Assist electricians and foremen with installing and maintaining construction and electrical projects, such as installing lights, running wires and conduit, digging, small concrete pours, and erecting metal buildings.
- Operate equipment such as excavators, telehandlers, skid steers, and manlifts.
- Assist with the installation of utility poles.
- Recognize and utilize hand tools, industrial power tools, and electrical equipment safely and effectively.
- Stage tools and materials and assist as required.
- Assist with paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman‑like manner.
- Assist other trades, including, but not limited to, welding, pipe fitting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, insulating, and fabricating.
- Sit, talk, hear, read, and write.
- Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb ladders.
- Work at heights up to 40 ft.
- Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Work extended hours and potential shift work.
- Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED (preferred).
- 2+ years’ experience with general construction or electrical (preferred).
- Candidates with trade school electrical certifications are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to recognize and safely utilize hand and small power tools.
- Ability to operate small equipment such as a mini excavator, manlift, etc.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Comfortable working at heights (e.g., from a bucket truck).
- Ability to follow both written and verbal direction.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitude.
