Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Tech II - 3rd Shift to join our team located in Cambridge, OH
.
The Maintenance Technician will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
3rd Shift: 10pm to 6am (Monday thru Friday)
Hourly Rate: $34-$40/hr. commensurate with experience + shift differential with bonus potential
Maintenance Technician focused on preventative maintenance and continuous improvement of equipment to ensure reliable plant operations.
Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance of all equipment.
- Assist in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
- Perform thorough work and follow-through on repairs based on feedback from internal customers.
- Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
- Use a digital voltmeter (DVM) appropriately.
- Coordinate equipment updates and operational issues with off-shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
- Have knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to support plant automation efforts.
- Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
- Hands-on skills test may be required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills including rebuilding equipment components.
- Experience with preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Basic understanding of facility equipment in support of the facility engineer.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting on 480V and below.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting. No programming required.
- Ability to read and apply electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Ability to pass hands-on skills test.
