What You Will Do- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure; or obtain a licensed CDL if not already held
- Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing
- Conduct snow and ice operations

- Highway Maintenance Worker 1:
Formal education in arithmetic (addition & subtraction) and reading, writing, speaking common English vocabulary;
Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement, no airbrake restriction - Highway Technician 1:
Formal education in arithmetic (addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, fractions) and reading, writing, speaking common English vocabulary; 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment;
Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement, no airbrake restriction - Overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards
- All bargaining unit new hires must serve one (1) year probationary period
- Position filled under OCSEA/AFSCME Contract
- Criminal background check for all selected applicants
- Urinalysis required prior to appointment; positive test leads to non‑offer
- Compliance with federal testing regulations (49 CFR Part 40 & Part 382) prohibiting marijuana use, including medical marijuana
- Selected applicants must register as a driver in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
