Science Technician – Science Department

October 2026 | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 35–37 hours per week | Temporary – 1–2 Terms

A well-established secondary school in Camden is looking for an experienced Science Technician to join its science department from October.

This is a hands‑on role supporting teachers and pupils across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The successful candidate will be organised, practical and confident working in a school laboratory environment.

Prepare equipment, chemicals and materials for practical lessons.

Set up and clear away experiments and practical activities.

Maintain laboratories, equipment and stock levels.

Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Support teachers during practical lessons where required.

Assist with ordering and monitoring scientific supplies.

Keep preparation areas and laboratories clean, safe and organised.

Previous experience as a Science Technician, ideally within a secondary school.

Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and practical science.

Understanding of safe handling and storage of chemicals.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage a busy workload and work independently.

A practical, reliable and proactive approach.

Experience supporting GCSE and A‑Level practical work would be advantageous.

The role will generally follow school opening hours, with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–4:30pm, and Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm.
