Orbit Workforce are recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Carpenter on behalf of a national building maintenance and compliance contractor. The company works across social housing and planned works throughout the UK, delivering responsive repairs, planned maintenance, compliance projects, and retrofit programmes, with a strong focus on quality service and long-term asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform a range of carpentry duties, including the installation, repair, and replacement of fire door sets
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations and building standards
* Keep detailed records of work performed and promptly report any issues or additional work requirements to the Project Manager or Site Supervisor
* Deliver projects on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality
* Communicate effectively with clients, tenants, housing staff, and contractors to ensure professional service and minimal disruption
* Follow all health and safety procedures, using appropriate PPE and maintaining a safe working environment at all times
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and use them safely and correctly
You Will Need:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery
* Valid blue CSCS Skilled Worker card
* Proven experience as a Fire Door Carpenter
* Ability to undertake a wide range of installation and maintenance tasks
* Strong knowledge of relevant building regulations, manufacturer installation details, and health & safety standards
* Good communication skills, with the ability to work with clients, colleagues, tenants, and external contractors
* Full UK driving licence
