Role OverviewThe role is to carry out high‑standard plumbing and general multi‑trade works for planned maintenance upgrades, including kitchens and bathrooms, across our housing portfolio. Sites are usually occupied by our customers. The successful candidate will receive a van, fuel card and all PPE.
Responsibilities- Carry out general multi‑trade activities – painting, decorating, tiling, plastering, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
- Work to One Direct’s performance specifications and Building Regulations Approved Documents.
- Maintain, replenish and record materials issued from van stock via One Serve.
- Use One Serve to complete all jobs and meet all system requirements.
- Follow Health and Safety procedures, report concerns promptly, and ensure compliance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Deliver customer service that avoids complaints and demonstrates excellent communication.
- Collaborate flexibly with the team to meet component replacement targets.
- Carry out any other duties as required by the line manager, with training where needed.
- Ensure data protection and confidentiality are upheld.
- City & Guilds or equivalent Plumbing trade discipline.
- Good understanding of legislation in maintenance and property management.
- Good standard of education.
- Effective communication skills – oral and written.
- Self‑motivated, assertive and confident.
- Good customer service skills.
- Proven problem‑solving track record.
- Resilience and readiness to take responsibility.
- Housing and/or building knowledge.
- NVQ2/3 in painting, decorating, plastering, or tiling (desirable).
