Description
The Administrative Specialist II works under general supervision and provides typing and administrative support to supervisory and professional staff. This position is governed by agency/institution policy.
It is a 12‑month on‑campus position. If the applicant does not reside within a reasonable commuting distance from Camden, AR, relocation will be required.

Examples of Duties- Acts as office receptionist: greets and directs visitors, screens calls in the Allied Health Department, provides routine assistance regarding policies and procedures, and makes referrals to other sources of information as needed.
- Assists with maintaining the divisional budget and completing/filing Allied Health reports promptly.
- Maintains present and past Allied Health students’ records, including interstate endorsement forms.
- Assists instructors with typing and copying tests and instructional materials.
- Maintains sufficient supplies for faculty and students by conducting physical inventory of the faculty supply area and skills/simulation labs, ordering, receiving, and restocking office and lab supplies.
- Monitors academic calendars and keeps abreast of deadlines.
- Assists in planning and organizing ceremonies.
- Assists with student and teaching evaluations as needed.
- Answers the phone, takes messages, and delivers messages accurately, being cordial to callers and visitors.
- Picks up, sorts, and distributes mail for faculty.
- Completes requisitions for goods, materials, and travel as needed by faculty.
- Assists with class schedules and advertisements, including setting up off‑campus classes.
- Proctors student exams and/or assignments when required.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and general office procedures.
- Knowledge of basic record‑keeping and word‑processing applications.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to provide information and assistance to office staff, visitors, and callers, and to extract and organize information.
The Administrative Specialist II has regular contact with department staff, other state agency/institution personnel, clients/students, personnel of regulated entities, and the general public. The workplace is well‑lit with artificial light.
