Literacy Instructional Facilitator

Position: 2026/2027 Literacy Instructional Facilitator
Job Description:

Provide support to classroom teachers, develop and implement curriculum and instructional programs, and other activities to increase student achievement. The facilitator organizes and implements curriculum and instructional programs and materials. The facilitator is responsible for assisting in developing the curriculum and assessment opportunities, research-based instructional methods, aligning materials and resources to the curriculum, and other teacher leadership responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to always represent the school district in a positive manner.

Coordinate with the district curriculum coordinator.

Coordinate and/or provide professional development for teachers.

Assist with the development and alignment of the literacy curriculum.

Model/demonstrate best practices in literacy or math in classrooms with teachers and students.

Lead/facilitate on-site professional development activities in literacy or math.

Hold follow-up conferences with teachers to clarify and discuss strategies modeled or taught.

Act as coach and mentor to teachers learning new strategies.

Maintain knowledge of current research and best practices in literacy or math and share this information with teachers.

Assist teachers in monitoring the progress of students.

Assist teachers in planning instruction based on literacy or math data within the school.

Assist teachers in developing appropriate lessons.

Provide support and education to parents in the area of literacy or math.

Assist principal in the assessment of the effectiveness of the school-based literacy or math programs.

Work with the District Literacy Specialist in designing CFAs and formative assessments for the purposes of informing instruction.

Choose appropriate instructional materials.

Integrate technology into instruction.

Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Valid Arkansas Teaching Certificate;
Bachelor's Degree;
Master's Degree preferred; 3 years experience; training in literacy beyond that required for certification preferred. Be a K-2 RISE trainer, and have experience with 95% and CKLA programs. Demonstrated understanding of following curriculums with fidelity and purpose.
