Armtec operates three business units producing subcomponents for ordnance in Coachella, CA; decoy countermeasure Flares in Camden, AR; and radar countermeasure chaff in Lillington, NC. This position is staffed in Camden, AR at Armtec’s facility for decoy countermeasure Flares.

- Provides leadership and direction for Testers, Preppers and Quality Test Technicians.
- Responsible for preparation, arming and testing of various flares for LAT Infrared Output, static function, and dynamic preparation and testing.
- Perform a variety of technician assignments in support of quality and/or test departmental programs, services and activities.
- Set up and maintain equipment applicable to the area; calibrate and repair designated instruments; perform specific tests to support Production, Quality and Engineering; monitor and analyze test data and communicate trends to appropriate departments.
- Develop procedures and policies for safely conducting test activities; determine necessary equipment upgrades, including procurement, installation, and implementation.
- Plan sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments, equipment and products.
- Coordinate test results with Blend Supervisor; maintain general test records, as required.
- Set up and maintain test equipment for in-process and lot acceptance testing.
- Make final accept/reject disposition for batch acceptance tests; interface and coordinate lot acceptance testing with Quality Technician and Government QAR and/or DCMA.
- Originate and report final lot test data to appropriate area for all lot history data; archive materials and data used to originate reports, videos, high speed data, spreadsheets and paperwork, etc.
- Oversee calibration and repair of electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording and indicating instruments.
- Perform standard and special tests to support Production, Quality and Engineering.
- Develop procedures and policies for safely conducting test activities; determine necessary equipment upgrades, including procurement, installation, and implementation.
- Inspect instruments, equipment, products and components for defects; devise formulas to solve problems in testing, measurements and calibrations.
- Assist Engineering/Operations in formulating tests, calibrations, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording and indicating instruments, equipment and products.
- Maintain open communication with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Materials and Programs/Contracts.
- Make decisions using Quality acceptance criteria; seek assistance when unknown.
- Seek ways to improve performance, quality and integrity of the product through tools, training, or redesign of equipment.
- Keep track of employee records and ensure training is up to date; provide input on employee competence.
- Direct, monitor and train Pyrotechnic Testers and assigned Technicians.
- Assist through the entire process of preparing for testing, setting up equipment, performing tests and delivering results to responsible parties.
- Maintain high ethical standards and adhere to Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
- Understand and follow Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
- Proficient in Excel spreadsheets; data analysis, formatting of usable tables and other evaluation documents.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control and associated data analysis.
- Proficient at reading and generating charts and graphs; troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of the practical use of quality measuring devices.
- Capable of interacting with other departments.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift; overtime; and wear a flash suit level 4 or 5 if required; must be respirator certified.
