Job Description:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations. Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS. Assists in a variety of duties to include sampling, observations, training and inspections. Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met.
Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist. Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
- Communicates with contacts within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
- Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
- Follows established processes to complete tasks.
- Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
- Active Clearance is required.
- Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Skills:
- Soft skills (I.E. Proficient in MS Office, Strong communication…)
- Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal codes, regulations and procedures regarding hazardous substances and materials.
- Basic principles regulating hazardous materials and waste.
- Basic waste recycling and reduction measures.
- Principles of recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
