Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with a minimum of 6‑8 years of experience
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
- Ability to translate technical drawings and specifications into practical manufacturing instructions
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of machine / tool mechanical design
- Experience with machine/tooling/equipment setup, troubleshooting, and proofing
- Knowledge of general manufacturing / integration processes
- Competent with mechanical manufacturing and mechanical assembly
You will be a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in tooling acquisition and installation for our Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) program. Our team is responsible for designing and improving manufacturing processes to make production more reliable, efficient, and cost‑effective, and providing engineering support to the production floor.
What You Will Be Doing- Develop tooling and equipment designs from engineering hardware specifications and produce complete technical data packages that fully define the tooling / equipment, enabling fabrication of detailed components and assembly of the end item
- Accomplish design and documentation efforts in accordance with company standards using CREO / Solid Works
- Develop Statement‑of‑Work (SOW) documents to fully realize manufacturing requirements
- Oversee design reviews at all stages of tooling development (PDR, CDR, and FDR)
- Manage tooling installations while adhering to defined project timelines
- Provide engineering support to the production floor for issues that may surface during normal day‑to‑day integration processes by analyzing problems and applying problem‑solving skills in a team environment in accordance with production rate requirements
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve production issues
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and systems

Legal and Security RequirementsMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Desired Skills- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Experience with manufacturing tooling and equipment
- Proficient with MS Office suite
- Proficiency or experience with AutoCAD, CREO, or Solid Works
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems/equipment used in a manufacturing environment
- General machining (CNC and manual) experience
- Knowledge of engineering materials
- Process line layout experience
- Experience reviewing designs and promoting design for manufacturability
- TAR development in SAP to establish requirements and funding for tooling
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration, and developing enduring business relationships throughout all levels of the organization
- Ability to identify and solve complex issues
- Competent with bill of materials (BoMs) and Indentured Parts Lists (IPL)
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
