Harris is seeking an Associate, Industrial Engineer to support the Programs/Factories in Camden, AR to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more. Functions
- Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show production processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key performance indicators
- Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
- Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth
- Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Requires strong oral and written communication skills to include experience creating and facilitating presentations and writing technical reports
- Experience/Education with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods/language (Siemens Plant Sim, Pro Model, Python)
- Proficiency in Lean Principles, Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints methodologies and tools
- Change management skills – a self‑motivated change agent with bias for action and a sense of urgency
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience using Microsoft Office products and Auto Cad
- Prior experience working in a Lean environment with demonstrated understanding of Lean principles
- Experience to include demonstrated strong teaming skills to work with multiple levels of stakeholders (floor operators, peers, management, etc.)
- Data mining & manipulation experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, Power BI
