Sr. Manager of Program Management to join our Missile Solutions segment, this role can be located in Huntsville, AL, Culpeper, VA or Camden, AR
. We need a dynamic leader to achieve program success. Candidate must be customer-focused and provide the best, most cost-effective systems or capabilities, within contract bounds, while remaining innovative and agile to achieve the optimal solution. Candidate must be able to operate independently, drive change, and continually seek to manage projects through to completion. This role requires absolute honesty in reporting project status, including risks, corrective actions, along with providing potential solutions.
Candidate must be able to direct a technical effort, making clear the objectives of the project at the same time as providing clear assignments & deliverables for each team member. Additionally, the candidate must be able to gauge the overall effort and re‑direct questions towards the team (to include the senior leadership team) to quickly iterate or pivot the project to its needed successful completion with all actions resolved.
It is important for the candidate to have the ability to estimate, manage cost and integrated schedule, understand earned value management tools, and deliver on commitments. Lasty, the candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate progress and issues to higher-level management, functional discipline leaders (COE’s), the program integrated product team leads, and supporting team members.
- Accountable for the cost, schedule and technical performance of the portfolio.
- Plan the execution of the program and its activities in accordance with contractual requirements and company processes, policies, and systems. Develop metrics and monitor them to assess the strengths of the program and identify areas for improvement.
- In conjunction with the functional leadership (Engineering, Operations, and Quality etc.), ensure that the program is adequately resourced with well-qualified staff.
- Supervise program staff and provide direction, input and appropriate feedback.
- Effectively communicate with customers and other stakeholders. Establish open communication to ensure effective and efficient program execution.
- Prepare reports/briefings on the program for executive management. Ensure that the program operates within approved budgets and that any issues are surfaced in a timely manner. Identify and manage risks and opportunities associated with business unit programs. Monitor the program and conduct periodic evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead program review sessions with customers and act as a primary interface to executive management for the execution of program requirements.
- 25% business travel required to customer sites and suppliers to support program objectives.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related Program Management experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related Program Management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related Program Management experience.
