We are seeking a Welder/Fabricator in Camden, Arkansas, to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks following manufacturer publications and schematics. We are looking for a skilled, dependable, and highly motivated Welding Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality repair and welding/fabricating services and ensuring site safety. We're seeking a skilled MIG Welder Fabricator.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading blueprints, operating hand and power tools, and welding various materials including but not limited to galvanized metal, carbon, and stainless steel. Attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Proficiency in operating fabrication machinery and drill presses is a plus.
Functions
- Fabrication & Assembly:
Interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings to cut, bend, and assemble raw metal materials. - Welding:
Performing high-precision welds in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), or SMAW (Stick) techniques. - Machine Operation:
Utilizing shop equipment such as plasma cutters, press brakes, ironworkers, and band saws. - Quality Control:
Inspecting and testing welds and structures with measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures) to meet quality standards. - Finishing:
Grinding, polishing, and cleaning finished products to remove sharp edges and prepare for painting. - Safety & Maintenance:
Adhering to safety protocols (wearing PPE) and maintaining equipment and work areas. - Install new equipment.
- General shop upkeep, cleaning, and/or organizing.
- Responsible for servicing product and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintains tools and equipment by inspecting signs of wear.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
- Represents company by serving as direct customer contact.
- Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant welder/fabricator experience or 2 years post‑Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related welder/fabricator experience.
- 1‑2 years' experience in welding and metal fabrication.
- Valid state issued Driver's License.
- Technical welding certificate or welding certificate of proficiency.
- Experience as a welder, fabricator, or similar role.
- Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical schematics.
- Knowledge of metal properties and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS) are often required.
