Positive Outcomes Charter School is a small charter school founded in 1996 that serves students who struggle to succeed in traditional classrooms. Approximately 65% of its students have disabilities requiring services. The school focuses on engaging, connected learning experiences and supports experiential learning outside of the school building.
Job OverviewThis teacher will teach science to students in grades 7–9 and serve as an advisor to a small group of students. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess scientifically‑based lessons and contribute to the school community.
Qualifications- Delaware state teaching certificate in Secondary (Preferred) or Middle Level Science or related field. Prefer 2–6 years of teaching experience in high school or middle school.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of curriculum and methods of instruction.
- Experience in test evaluation and measurement of achievement.
- Track record of success with diverse students, including those with special needs.
- Knowledge and proven ability in positive behaviour management.
- Ability to work well with parents and community members.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to network in the community.
- Skilled in the use of Internet, e‑mail, and Microsoft Office.
- Capable of interpreting policy, procedures, and data.
- Willingness to be held accountable for student results.
