Full‑Time Toddler Assistant Teacher
Seeking Full‑Time Toddler Assistant Teacher for the school year at Children’s House Montessori School in Camden, Maine. Position begins on August 24, 2026.
Children’s House Montessori School is a team‑oriented Montessori community with two toddler classrooms, two primary classrooms, and one lower elementary classroom. Approximately 75-100 students are served in a holistic, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment during the school year and summer programs. The school is a member of the American Montessori Society.
Mission: cultivate curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in young learners while nurturing a sense of care for each other, the environment, and the world.

Education & Training- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education preferred
- Experience or willingness to be trained in:
Positive Discipline, Maine Early Learning and Development Standards (MELDS), Health and Safety, and Nature Connection
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related early childhood teaching experience;
Montessori experience a plus - Teaching outdoors in a traditional or non-traditional setting
- Genuine love of children and families
- Values an inclusive, holistic and community-driven approach to teaching and learning
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents and colleagues
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
- Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and ability to “think outside the box”
- High level of comfort with the outdoors
- Assist the lead teacher in providing and maintaining a prepared Montessori learning environment, both indoors and outdoors
- Support the lead teacher and children in all activities, consistent with the Montessori Philosophy
- Assist the lead teacher in maintaining the health, safety, direct care and supervision of all children in the classroom
- Communicate concerns or observations regarding child development, in areas of social emotional, academic, and motor skills, with lead teacher
- Develop a reflective teaching practice that challenges and promotes continuous growth and learning as a teacher and person
