About Camden Hills Regional High School

Camden Hills Regional High School is a state‑of‑the‑art, energy‑efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels. It serves approximately 700 students in grades 9–12 and offers an expansive array of educational experiences. The school is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high‑quality, diverse staff.

Position Summary

High School Math & Science Teacher – full time with benefits, opening Fall 2026. The teacher will serve in the Alternative Education – Zenith program, an off‑site, creatively individualized environment for alternative learners. The role supports students with experiential, community‑based learning, fostering independence, responsibility, problem‑solving, and group processing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in Physical, Earth, and/or Life Sciences and Algebra, Geometry, and/or Financial Literacy.
  • Contribute to a project‑based learning environment.
  • Manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
  • Evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, peers, parents, and administrators.
  • Support students’ development of academic, organizational, and self‑advocacy skills.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of diverse learning and development pathways.
  • Ability to engage with students, families, faculty, and the community to support learning and wellbeing.
  • Adaptability to student needs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Desire for ongoing professional development and improvement.
Requirements
  • Background check, including fingerprinting.
  • Maine Teaching Certification with endorsement in Mathematics (300), Physical Science (350), and/or Life Science (395) for grades 7–12 required (or evidence of eligibility).
Pay & Benefits
  • Pay starts at $52,686 (step B – 0) annually, with potential increases based on experience within the applicable contract.
