Gartley & Dorsky Engineering & Surveying is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our civil engineering team. The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing and delivering a variety of civil engineering projects from initial concept through design, permitting, construction, and project completion.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage projects while collaborating effectively with clients, engineers, surveyors, permitting agencies, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects throughout Maine, including residential, commercial, municipal, waterfront, site development, roadway, stormwater, utility, and environmental projects.

Civil Engineering Design Permitting and Regulatory Compliance Business Development and Client Relations Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Maine, or the ability to obtain Maine licensure within a reasonable period.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, preferably including project management.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway design.
  • Experience preparing engineering plans, calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
