Overview
The Revenue Accountant handles general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledgers, and assists in monthly closes. This position reports to Accounting Manager and/or Invoicing Manager.
Responsibilities- Analyses and reconciles accounts
- Provides assistance on the monthly close with various departments
- Participate actively in monthly close activities including preparing journal entries (to record unbilled revenues, deferred revenues, and prepaid)
- Calculates revenue for customers
- Provides customers with weekly and monthly invoicing and required supporting documentation
- Review and abstract customer contracts in order to produce accurate and timely invoicing
- Oversee financial transactions and process invoices in a timely manner
- Calculates monthly revenue accruals for multiple locations
- Assist with new customer setup
- Uploads manual AR invoicing into financial system
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Operations, Finance, Planning & Analysis, and Accounting teams to drive efficiencies and define best practices in revenue processing
- Develop cross functional relationships with Sales and Operations
- Collaborate with IT department on system integration and processes related to invoicing
- Ability to communicate issues, and contribute towards solutions
- Assist in providing audit support for control and substantive testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-4 years of experience in the accounting profession
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Capability to work in a fast paced and rapidly growing environment
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization and external customers
- Knowledge of US GAAP with ability to recognize and accurately record revenue in accordance with US GAAP.
We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $28.08/hour - $37.45/hour. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%.
