Senior Manager, Cost Accounting
An exciting, rapidly growing biotech company is looking to add a Senior Manager, Cost Accounting to its Finance & Accounting team. This is a high-impact opportunity for a strong cost accounting professional to play a key role in a growing manufacturing organization.
What You'll Do:- Lead monthly and quarterly cost accounting close activities
- Oversee inventory costing, COGS, BOMs, overhead allocation/absorption, and inventory reserves
- Analyze manufacturing spending, costs per unit, product volumes, and operational performance
- Partner with Manufacturing Finance, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Operations
- Support budgeting and forecasting related to manufacturing costs and inventory
- Oversee physical inventory processes and related reconciliations
- Support SOX controls, internal audit, and external financial audits
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting for senior Finance leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve cost accounting processes and manufacturing operations
- Lead and develop a team of 2 Cost Accounting professionals
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 9+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong cost accounting focus
- Experience in pharma, biotech, or another manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory, and COGS
- Strong forecasting and analytical skills
- Experience in a SOX-controlled environment
- CPA and/or Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- Net Suite experience is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and strong communication abilities
