About the PositionWe are seeking an experienced and organized Business Office Manager to join our skilled nursing facility in Camden, NJ. The Business Office Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial and administrative functions of the facility while working closely with residents, families, staff, insurance companies, and management.
The ideal candidate will have experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, healthcare billing, accounts receivable, and Medicaid/Medicare processes, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the daily operations of the facility's business office.
Oversee accounts receivable, billing, collections, and cash posting.
Coordinate and monitor Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private-pay billing.
Review resident accounts, identify outstanding balances, and follow up on delinquent accounts.
Assist with Medicaid applications, eligibility, recertifications, and documentation.
Verify insurance coverage and maintain accurate resident financial information.
Prepare and maintain financial reports and business office records.
Work closely with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, Admissions, Social Services, and other departments.
Communicate professionally with residents and responsible parties regarding billing and account questions.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of required financial and administrative documentation.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and financial information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
Assist with audits and respond to requests for financial documentation.
Supervise and support business office staff, as applicable.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and New Jersey regulations and facility policies.
Previous experience as a Business Office Manager in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, private-pay billing, and long-term care reimbursement.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable and collections.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare/business office software.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the facility's leadership team.
2+ years of healthcare business office experience.
Experience with SNF billing and collections.
Experience with NJ Medicaid and long-term care eligibility processes.
Experience working with healthcare accounting or electronic billing systems.
