Position: Ombudsman/Trial Court Administration Intern (Hourly Position)

Job Overview

The Camden Vicinage is offering paid internship opportunities. Interns will support court proceedings through clerical, administrative, and customer service duties. Interns may assist with data entry, look‑ups, filing, photocopying, and other supportive tasks that give broad insight into the court system.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to court proceedings.
  • Provide customer service duties in connection with court proceedings.
  • Assist with data entry, look‑ups, filing, and photocopying.
Work Hours & Salary

The hourly rate is $20.00. The position is limited to a maximum of 35 hours per week, not to exceed 944 hours in a fiscal year. Interns are required to work a minimum of 10 hours.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree and having completed at least 30 credit hours.
  • Must submit an unofficial transcript with the application.
  • Flexible schedule available; ideal candidates must be available from August 2026 through June 2027.
  • Must treat all personnel, clients, and members of the public with dignity, courtesy, and respect.
Physical & Legal Requirements
  • Ability to perform work requiring climbing, prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and reaching.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing 30–50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in New Jersey if a vehicle is required for essential duties.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. per Department of Homeland Security regulations. U.S. citizenship is not required.
  • Must undergo a thorough background check, including fingerprinting, upon new hire.
  • Newly hired employees must establish and maintain a principal residence in New Jersey within one year of hire unless an exemption is granted.
