STEM Teacher Position
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate;
Candidates must hold one of the following New Jersey certifications:
Teacher of Technology Education, Teacher of Computer Science, Middle School with Subject-Matter Specialization:
Mathematics in Grades 58, Middle School with Subject-Matter Specialization:
Science in Grades 58
Scope of Responsibility:
Assumes the professional responsibility for providing learning experiences in an evolving STEM program, including but not limited to coding, robotics, engineering design, computational thinking, maker education, and other emerging technologies. Experience with hands-on STEM instruction and instructional technology is preferred. The STEM teacher shall create a supportive and positive learning environment that develops each student's skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in order to meet and exceed the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, using approved curricula, materials, and district initiatives.
Achieving academic excellence requires that the STEM teacher work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents to support student learning and the continued growth of the district's STEM program.
Salary: $57,200 - $62,500 annually based on experience
