Program: Traditional Art Instructor Opportunities
Location: On-site at partner schools; varies by assignment
Teaching Mode: In Person

About The OpportunityConcorde Education is seeking independent instructional contractors to provide traditional visual art enrichment services for K–12 students. This is a potential independent contractor assignment, not an employee position. Contractors may choose whether to apply for, accept, decline, or ignore available opportunities.
Assignments vary by school, grade level, schedule, curriculum, available art materials, classroom resources, and program objectives. Concorde may provide curriculum guidance, lesson‑plan suggestions, project ideas, instructional resources, or program objectives. Contractors may use their professional judgment to adapt instruction within the assignment scope and applicable site requirements.
Assignment Scope- Plan and facilitate engaging, age‑appropriate traditional art sessions;
- Introduce students to foundational and intermediate visual art concepts through hands‑on creative projects;
- Adapt activities based on student experience levels, site requirements, available materials, and program objectives;
- Support students in creating drawings, paintings, mixed‑media artwork, illustrations, portfolios, or other creative projects, where applicable;
- Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and age‑appropriate learning environment;
- Communicate assignment‑related needs or significant concerns with Concorde and school staff, as appropriate;
- Complete a brief session completion form after each scheduled session; and
- Follow applicable site safety, visitor, classroom, emergency, and student‑protection procedures.
- Studio routines, art‑material safety, and responsible classroom practices;
- Elements of art and principles of design, including line, shape, color, value, texture, space, and composition;
- Color theory, color mixing, and contrast;
- Drawing techniques, including observation, contour, proportion, perspective, and sketching;
- Shading, value, texture, and rendering techniques;
- Painting techniques using age‑appropriate media;
- Mixed‑media projects utilizing collage, ink, charcoal, pastels, or other approved materials;
- Visual storytelling, creative expression, critique, and portfolio development; and
- Creativity, artistic problem‑solving, observation, and design thinking.
- At least 60 college credits, where required by the applicable assignment or site;
- Experience with traditional visual art, drawing, painting, illustration, mixed media, fine arts, or related artistic disciplines;
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or leading activities with school‑age students;
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom facilitation skills;
- Availability to provide services for the accepted assignment schedule and communicate schedule issues as soon as reasonably practicable;
- Ability to demonstrate artistic techniques while fostering creativity, confidence, and skill development.
Preferred backgrounds may include art educators, artists, illustrators, painters, graphic artists, studio instructors, art students, museum educators, art therapists, and others with relevant instructional or artistic experience.
Materials and ResourcesAssignments may utilize school‑provided art supplies, drawing and painting materials, classroom resources, curriculum guides, lesson plans, project examples, and other instructional materials, where available. Contractors may use their own instructional methods and materials when appropriate, safe, age‑appropriate, lawful, and consistent with the assignment scope and site requirements. Purchases requiring…
