LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Mathematics Teacher to provide high-quality, standards-aligned mathematics instruction and support student achievement. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment, use research-based instructional strategies, analyze student data, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
The Mathematics Teacher will collaborate with teachers, administrators, instructional leaders, and families to strengthen mathematics instruction and support LEAP Academy's commitment to "Every Child, Every Classroom, Every Day."
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required;
Master's degree preferred. - Valid or eligible New Jersey teaching certification in Mathematics.
- Experience teaching mathematics, preferably in a K–12 or similar educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics content, curriculum, and research-based instructional strategies.
- Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
- Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to differentiate and scaffold instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Commitment to supporting students' analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and school staff.
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction using research-based teaching strategies.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assess student learning through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instruction.
- Analyze student work and assessment results to identify learning needs and develop appropriate interventions.
- Differentiate, sequence, and scaffold mathematics instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to strengthen mathematics instruction across the Lower School.
- Model effective mathematics instructional strategies and provide support to colleagues as needed.
- Participate in Instructional Support Team reviews and assist with intervention planning for students who are struggling academically.
- Collaborate with the Instructional Leadership Team and grade-level teams to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
- Support school improvement and accountability goals related to mathematics achievement.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, grades, reports, and other required documentation.
- Establish positive and professional relationships with students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Participate in required meetings, professional development, workshops, and school activities.
- Uphold school policies, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
- Promote a positive attitude toward mathematics, academic achievement, and lifelong learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
