The Information Assurance Systems Security Engineer is first and foremost a Systems Engineer who is also a subject matter expert in the development of systems and equipment that protect classified National Security information. The ideal candidate possesses Systems Engineering experience combined with Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography expertise, with demonstrated success contributing to NSA-approved products considered highly desirable.

Essential Functions:

* Applies security and cryptography expertise throughout the Systems Engineering lifecycle to develop and successfully certify National Security systems on time, within budget, and with low residual risk.

* Supports the design, development, and test of high-assurance security solutions for Defense and Intelligence community customers.
* Develops Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), decomposing and synthesizing security requirements, verifying security features, supporting security architecture development and analysis, and assisting with design and security test planning and execution.
* Supports NSA certification activities, secure networking integration, and embedded platform security for Type-1 cryptographic communication systems.
* Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Systems Lead for Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography.

* Travels up to 10%.

* Ability to obtain and maintain US Security Clearances. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline;
Master's degree highly desirable.

* Active DoD security clearance required (SECRET minimum).

* 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting Information Assurance systems or related products.

* Complete understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle from concept through test, including architecture development, functional analysis, requirements allocation & traceability, trade studies, system synthesis, and integration.
