Systems Engineer, Software Engineer
Job Overview: Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full‑time Systems Engineer (Combat) – Early Career. In this role you will design, integrate, and test Command, Control and Communications (C3) systems, which perform functions such as radar and sensor management, track filtering, correlation/association, multi‑link communication, threat evaluation, and weapon system command for target engagement.
Responsibilities: Work on C3 system design, development, and verification; develop algorithms and test procedures; troubleshoot integration issues; collaborate with software and hardware teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable STEM discipline.
- Foundation in systems‑engineering principles: requirements allocation, traceability, authoring; system design and algorithm development; test‑data analysis; and system integration and verification.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or comparable scripting languages for analysis, modeling, and automation.
- U.S. citizenship required; position requires a government security clearance and is located at a special‑access facility.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with model‑based systems engineering (activity/sequence diagrams, etc.).
- Knowledge of algorithm development, data analysis, and system test.
- Experience with formal requirements verification, test procedure and test script development, and defect root‑cause analysis.
- Familiarity with agile software development methods and tools such as JIRA and Git.
- Experience with system integration and testing; interfacing with software teams.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
Security Clearance: Government clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
Work Location &
Schedule:
Onsite full‑time at a Lockheed Martin facility; schedule: 4×10 hour day with 3 days off per week.
Salary & Benefits: New Jersey base range $61,500 – $110,909. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
