The Electrical Design Drafter will be part of an integrated development team and be responsible for the development of complex printed wiring designs. The position requires the ability to perform placement, routing and documentation of state‑of‑the‑art multilayer SMT and BGA blind‑via digital, analog high‑speed printed wiring boards, following military and commercial PWB design and drawing standards. The role includes designing part geometries and symbols;
preparing schematic/logic diagrams, board fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, parts lists and wiring diagrams. Successful candidates will work collaboratively in an innovative environment that applies principles to develop creative solutions.
- Associate’s degree in CAD
- 2+ years of Mentor Graphics Expedition and CES experience
- Experience managing a reused electrical part library
- Experience capturing electrical part geometries and symbols
- Experience with high‑speed printed wiring board design requirements
- Experience with IPC standards concerning PWB design and assembly
- U.S. citizenship required
- Current U.S. Government Secret security clearance required
- HDI and sequentially laminated printed wiring board layout, routing and documentation techniques.
- ASME drawing standards.
- 2+ years of cable design experience using Zuken E3 or equivalent tool set for design and documentation.
- Zuken E3 schematic capture and wire connection lists for use in cable assembly documentation, as well as participation in connector selections. Knowledge of MIL series 38999 and 28840 series connectors is beneficial.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $91,000 – $125,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; final offers may vary based on factors including experience and geographic location. L3
