Manufacturing Engineer, Product Engineer, Quality Engineering
Function as an integral member of an NPI team developing, designing, validating, and starting up manufacturing and assembly operations
Support product quality, cost, and performance objectives while providing design, quality, marketing, and financial inputs
Work through all phases of product development, planning and executing projects through product launch
Collaborate with R&D, Quality Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Sourcing, Planning, and external manufacturers
Define user needs, generate design concepts and prototypes, and perform design evaluations including tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE, and simulated-use testing
Support product and process validation plans and testing
Develop and evaluate test methods
Optimize designs for manufacturability and produce prototypes with cross-functional teams and suppliers
Establish relationships between product design features and manufacturing methods
Conduct Design for Manufacturing reviews of engineering designs and drawings
Participate in design reviews assessing design intent, manufacturability, dimensioning, and tolerancing
Manage prototype manufacturing, select prototype methods, and execute prototype development
Complete financial estimates of component and assembly Cost of Goods Sold
Analyze and recommend feature and manufacturing cost tradeoffs
Develop manufacturing strategies, including supplier selection, to achieve cost and time targets
Provide technical support to external manufacturers in process development, characterization, validation, and stabilization
Support ERP and Quality System assessments and deliverables
Mentor entry-level engineers and oversee suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly
Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related, required
- Minimum of 6 years of experience required in a maintenance manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, Power Point - Demonstrated experience in Project Management is preferred
- Experience working in the medical device industry or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
Demonstrates expertise in product development and manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on design optimization, cost analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Proficient in managing projects from concept through launch while ensuring product quality and compliance in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries.
