Posted range is $70,. The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and offers continual salary growth opportunities. This intermediate level position involves moderately complex assignments within the financial analysis family. Employees gather and analyze data related to public utilities, review utility applications, research assigned portions of cases, and prepare exhibits, testimony, and supporting documentation. Work is performed under moderate to minimal supervision, with independent handling of presentations at public meetings and expert testimony in routine cases.
Key Accountabilities- Prepare financial updates, analyses versus prior periods, forecasting/budgeting, and assess associated risks/opportunities.
- Support merger and acquisition activities with financial analysis, modeling, market and target company research, due diligence, and coordination with internal and external colleagues.
- Provide financial support and analysis for business development and strategic planning activities, such as partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, reengineering projects, and divestitures.
- Perform cost/benefit analysis for projects and departments, develop graphs, reports, dashboards, and routine/ad hoc reports. Present findings to management.
- Expedite reporting processes by combining and analyzing data from disparate systems, interpreting trends and patterns in financial data sets.
- Work with internal stakeholders to solidify requirements, interpret reports, provide feedback, and propose actions for improvement.
- Collaborate to develop and maintain financial planning activities, including departmental budgets, staffing models, and pricing models.
- Recommend cost‑savings or profit‑generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
- Recommend new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content, completeness, identify trends, and recommend business improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, business, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the financial analysis of utility rates, expenses, revenues, services, and fundamental theories.
- Advanced degree or CPA preferred.
