Larc School is a dedicated non‑profit special education institution serving students with severe to profound disabilities. Our warm, family‑like environment emphasizes individualized learning and therapeutic support, ensuring every child's unique needs are met with compassion and expertise.

We are seeking a proactive and organized Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage a wide range of HR functions, from talent acquisition and employee onboarding and employee relations. Your energetic approach will help foster a positive workplace culture that supports our staff’s growth and well‑being.

Duties I. Reporting & Contracting

a. Assist in calculating wages, draft contracts for employees (school year and ESY) and coordinate their disbursement and retrieval.

b. Oversee the time and attendance process for employees, including employee timesheets, and employee time off balances.

c. Prepare all annual state and federal reports, including, but not limited to: healthcare reporting, new employee reporting, 1:1 classroom assistant submissions, and other general employee reporting associated with the school.

d. Report, respond to, process, and track all workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance claims, providing timely updates to Administrative Team.

II. Human Resources

a. Monitor job postings on job sites and track resumes received through all channels, including, but not limited to, internal employee referrals and applications submitted via mail and email.

b. Process and maintain official documentation for employees (i.e. certifications, criminal background checks and fingerprinting, etc).

c. Manage all new employee hiring requirements including offer letters, reference checks, background checks, fingerprinting, drug testing, orientation, etc.

d. Implement benefits and record keeping requirements to include adding, changing, and deleting employee information and ensuring that employees are notified of eligibility accordingly.

e. Oversee the yearly distribution of all employee notice requirements.

f. Maintain and update all job descriptions.

g. Act as a liaison with employees and the Executive Director and Business Manager regarding requests pursuant to the following: the Family Medical Leave Act, Short Term Disability, NJ Paid Family Leave Act, and the NJ Family Leave Act.

h. Act as a liaison with employees and the Executive Director and Business Manager on employee disciplinary matters and all internal.

i. Track all employee leaves and requests for leave on master leave document.

j. Conduct exit interviews with employees who are leaving.

k. Maintain a comprehensive and up‑to‑date understanding of the organization’s human resources policies and procedures.

III. General Administration

a. Assist with reception duties if the Confidential Secretary is called away which would include answering doorbell and phones.

b. Support classroom staff during fire drills and emergency situations.

c. Exercise flexibility in completing evening and weekend work as needed.

d. Coordinate the timely acquisition and management of gifts for employee recognition and support, such as gift cards for successful new employee referrals, as well as sympathy, congratulatory, and get‑well outreach.

IV. Technology

a. Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel.

b. Exercise proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word including creating, editing, formatting, and doing large mail merges with multiple fields.

c. Have a working knowledge in the use of Google Products.

d. Show an ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
