Position: DIGITAL SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT at Cooper University Health Care Camden, NJ

Short Description

Responsible for leading and supporting activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of digital health solutions. Solutions include projects, products, systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information), shared infrastructure services and shared application services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Translates Business Strategy into Solutions Architecture:
    Understands business drivers and capabilities, determines corresponding enterprise system designs, and drives the organization’s targeted digital health outcomes.
  • Understands emerging technology trends and disruptions to apply existing and new technologies to enable evolving business and operating models.
  • Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint, documents all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Analyzes the healthcare technology industry, competitors, and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
Leads Solutions Design and Analysis
  • Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a digital solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies.
  • Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects and systems.
  • Manages and develops the architecture for broader scope projects or products, working closely with application architects who manage single project or product architectures.
  • Analyzes the business‑IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement.
Orchestrates Solutions Delivery
  • Designs and directs governance activities to ensure solution architecture compliance.
  • Defines principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns for alignment with the enterprise’s future‑state architecture vision.
  • Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, and designs standard and custom software configurations.
  • Supports product managers in EOL decisions to maintain, refresh or retire products, services or systems.
  • Develops a roadmap for evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from future to current state.
  • Monitors the current‑state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies via technology aging or misalignment with business requirements.
  • Identifies organizational financial impact of the solutions architecture.
Facilitates and Collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes
  • Works with agile scrum teams to ensure project execution aligns with promised outcomes.
  • Works closely with product owners and managers to ensure a robust architectural runway for future requirements.
  • Provides consulting support to application architects within agile teams.
  • Consults with application and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture.
  • Supports agile teams, product owners and application architects in aligning with enterprise architecture governance.
Experience Required
  • 5+ years’ experience.
  • A proactive candidate with an innovative, big‑picture mindset.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid remote environment—required onsite roughly one week per month.
  • Provider and clinical workflow experience preferred.
  • Experience with Epic and third‑party integrations preferred.
  • Contact Center experience including Epic Cheers CRM and Digital Front Door preferred.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Special Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare systems and supporting third‑party systems.
  • Expert command of Microsoft Office products.
