Snowflake Engineer

What you will be doing

• Work in a globally distributed team to provide a robust enterprise data platform in Snowflake.
• Design, optimize, document, and implement the operational aspects of supporting the Snowflake cloud data platform, including cost monitoring, optimizations, and user security auditing.
• Implement and support automation for production deployment in Snowflake.
• Implement Snowflake standards and methodologies for database security – both infrastructure and application level.
• Implement and support automation for administering Snowflake – accounts, databases, and access roles.
• Implement data sharing / replication across cloud and region for internal and external clients.
• Create Snowflake utilization and capacity plans.
• Propose and implement DB/Snowflake query performance optimizations.
• Identify system bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
• Implement Snowflake user/query log analysis and alerts.
• Implement data encryption, decryption, and masking policies to protect PII/PCI data.
• Work as an administrator on Snowflake on AWS (configuration, data migration, and security).

• Technical expertise in all aspects of Snowflake.
• Experience in implementing Snowflake external functions.
• Experience securing sensitive PII/PCI data in Snowflake.
• Hands‑on experience administering Snowflake on AWS.
• Experience with AWS CLI and networking.
• Knowledge of security protocols (SAML, SCIM, OAuth, OpenID, Kerberos, policies, entitlements, etc.).
• Experience architecting and maintaining high‑availability production systems.
• Experience developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts.
• Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management).
• Demonstrated proficiency in index design, query plan optimization, and analysis.
• Hands‑on experience in administering relational databases, data warehouses, and data marts.
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands‑on experience with AWS alerting/monitoring tools.
• Experience with Agile and Dev Ops concepts.
• Strong development skills in Python or another scripting language.
• Experience with Snowpipe streaming, Iceberg, governance catalog, Unity, Polaris, etc. (optional).

• AWS certification.
• Snowflake certification(s).

The pay range for this position is $84.00 - $93.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
