Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced Data Science Consultant with strong pharmaceutical commercial analytics expertise to partner with leading life sciences clients in solving complex business challenges through data-driven insights and strategic consulting.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategy consulting experience, pharmaceutical domain expertise, stakeholder management capabilities, and analytics acumen
. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior commercial and marketing stakeholders, translating business challenges into analytical frameworks, driving insight generation, and influencing strategic decision-making.
This is a highly visible client-facing role that requires strong executive communication, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.
Your responsibilities will include:- Partner with senior commercial, marketing, and brand stakeholders to understand strategic business objectives and translate them into analytics-driven solutions.
- Lead client engagements focused on pharmaceutical commercial analytics and business performance improvement.
- Structure ambiguous business problems and define analytical approaches to address key strategic questions.
- Drive discussions with senior client stakeholders and facilitate solutioning workshops, business reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
- Collaborate with data science, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure high-quality solution delivery.
- Develop compelling insights and business narratives that drive actionable recommendations.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Guide teams in identifying opportunities for advanced analytics, predictive modeling, segmentation, and commercial optimization.
- Mentor junior consultants and analytics team members while fostering a collaborative problem-solving culture.
- Contribute to capability building, thought leadership, and best practices within the life sciences analytics practice.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial business processes and market dynamics.
Deep expertise in:- Brand Analytics
- Commercial Analytics
- Market Performance Analytics
- Customer Segmentation and Targeting
- Omnichannel and Promotional Effectiveness Analytics
- Launch and Lifecycle Analytics
Ability to connect analytical insights with business impact and strategic recommendations.
Experience partnering with marketing, brand, and commercial excellence teams.
Consulting ExperienceStrong consulting toolkit including:
- Strategic storytelling
- Proven ability to manage relationships with multiple senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
- Strong understanding of advanced analytics methodologies and their application in pharmaceutical business problems.
- Prescription and sales data
- Claims and EMR data
- Market access and payer data
Ability to interpret complex analytical outputs and translate them into executive-level recommendations.
- Familiarity with analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent is preferred.
- Hands-on coding expertise is not mandatory; however, candidates should possess strong analytics interpretation and solution-design capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Analytics, or related discipline.
- Master's degree, MBA, PhD, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical consulting, commercial analytics, data science consulting, or related life sciences advisory roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading client-facing engagements and managing executive stakeholder relationships.
- New Jersey/ North Wales, PA (4 days onsite)
