DetailsGood Work is a youth employment and social mobility charity, creating fairer opportunities for young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Founded in 2022, we’re a fast-growing organisation with real impact and big ambitions to drive systemic change for the community we serve. We partner with progressive businesses to bring diverse talent into entry-level roles, giving young people the opportunity to prove themselves without requiring unpaid internships or elite degrees to get ahead.
Farhan’s story is just one example of the impact of our programme.
Our programmes support 18-25 year olds from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to build their employability skills, access tailored support and transition into sustained employment aligned with their goals. Learn more in our 2025 Impact Report.
About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity to work across our organisation in a varied role and report directly to the CEO. As our first ops focused hire, you’ll work closely with the CEO and Leadership Team to keep our growing charity running smoothly, while also getting involved in administrative and operational support across the charity.
Your responsibilities will be focused on ensuring the smooth running and continual improvement of our operational admin, including:
- Managing our office resources and supplies
- Tracking income and expenditure, invoicing and processing payments and expenses, and supporting payroll
- Maintaining key policies and procedures to support our governance
- Improving and managing our people processes, from hiring, to learning and development for our team and managing our team handbook
- Setting up and maintaining IT equipment and supporting the team with Sharepoint, CRM and Notion management
- Supporting our Board of Trustees, including organising meetings, taking minutes and supporting the Chair with Board Papers
- Acting as our organisation’s first point of contact, managing our Shared Mailbox and organising team meetings and events
- Supporting general administration and operations as needed across Good Work – whether that’s helping with community outreach, working with our programmes team on impact data management, helping onboard new volunteers, supporting the organisation on delivery of key events, or helping the fundraising team manage our grants pipeline.
As a growing charity, there are always opportunities to get involved in new areas of our work and the responsibilities of this role will evolve in line with Good Work’s priorities. We want everyone in our team to have the opportunity to see our work with young people in action and are supportive of all team members getting involved in programme delivery where capacity allows.
