Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Acute Care
Location
: 900 Medical Center Drive, Sewell, New Jersey, United States of America
- Perform complete patient history and physicals, documenting findings in the medical record.
- Order and collect diagnostic data using appropriate assessment techniques and relevant supporting information.
- Act as first responder for nursing and house staff during patient status changes, orders, and procedural or resuscitative needs.
- Assess risks associated with care of acute and complex chronically ill patients, including medication side effects, immobility, nutrition deficiencies, fluid‑electrolyte imbalance, immunocompetence, and invasive procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to diagnose acute and chronic conditions and manage diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance, and supervision.
- Formulate differential diagnoses by priority and diagnose complications, ordering appropriate interventions.
- Develop, document, and modify individualized plans of care using evidence‑based practice guidelines and protocols applicable across the continuum of care.
- Prescribe diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions; perform advanced procedures consistent with privileges and competency validation.
- Document key components of patient progress via daily progress notes, transfer, and discharge summaries, ensuring timely, compliant entries that capture acuity.
- Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary team, patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Engage in professional practice activities, including precepting, graduate student education, research, participation in grand rounds, and specialty‑specific meetings.
- Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
- National Board Certification as a Primary/Family Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- BLS certification.
- Valid state license to practice in New Jersey.
- Demonstrated experience in acute or complex chronic care settings.
Annual salary range: $ to $, based on experience, skills, and qualifications. No annual incentive available for this position.
Work ScheduleWorkday Day shift. Full‑time (1.0 FTE). Regular employee subtype.
