Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Operating Room Rn

The OR RN will be responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room. They will support surgical teams during procedures, ensuring patient safety and compliance with clinical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all surgical supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient conditions throughout surgery, responding to any changes appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient status in electronic health records.
• Adhere to infection control policies and ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols.
• Participate in on-call duties, including providing emergency response when required.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active South Carolina RN license or valid Compact license prior to start.
• Possess 4+ years of recent perioperative or operating room nursing experience.
• Be current in BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Epic charting and surgical procedures.
• Ability to float within scope and work across related units or facilities as needed.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
