Clinical Nurse – Per Diem

• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to patients and their families in an acute care setting
• Advocate for patients and deliver high-quality care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Collect comprehensive patient health data from patients and/or family members
• Analyze data to determine needs and develop individualized care plans
• Update care plans based on patient progression and clinical pathways
• Manage care delivery
• Ensure physician orders are carried out appropriately and promptly
• Collaborate with ancillary staff, including Patient Care Assistants
• Integrate patient care standards into clinical activities
• Participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care, and patient outcomes
• Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity
• Promote a supportive and team-oriented environment
• Support departmental responsibilities consistent with the hospital's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values
• Educate patients and family members regarding plans of care and clinical pathways

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
• 1+ years of acute care experience
• NYS RN license and registration required
• Excellent phlebotomy skills
• BLS certification required
• HCAHPS/EPIC knowledge preferred
• Medical-surgical clinical competence
• Physical and emotional assessment skills
• Age-specific competency

• Ability to educate patients and family members regarding plans of care and clinical pathways
• Strong patient-centered approach
