DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring an active NJ or Compact RN license and prior L&D experience.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Required to float within a network of five hospitals based on staffing needs
- May float to the High-Risk Obstetric Unit (HROB)
- May be pulled to facilities with higher patient volumes
- 1:6 patient ratio experience required
- Circulates and scrubs for cesarean sections
- Uses Epic EMR
- Assignment length of 13 weeks
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
Experience with high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, and cesarean section circulating/scrubbing required - Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing, with only two attempts allowed on a PC
- Must complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
- Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as part of patient care
- Support high-risk obstetric patients and assist with procedures such as amnioinfusion and forceps/vacuum extraction
- Scrubs are provided by the hospital
- Required to work one winter holiday and one summer holiday
- RTO must be submitted at time of profile submission; no changes accepted afterward
- No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are subject to the local pay rate
