American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN with a strong cardiac background for a night shift assignment requiring float coverage across multiple hospitals.
Requirements- Active NJ or Compact RN license required, with Nursys verification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience with a strong cardiac background, including recent experience within the last 12 months
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing (limited to 2 attempts, completed on a PC)
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
- Skilled in respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
- Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
- Must be clean shaven to accommodate fit testing
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required with no exemptions
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) setting with cardiac monitoring and telemetry patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float required among 5 hospital locations within skillset (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL)
- May float to ICU to care for downgraded PCU patients
- Block scheduling not permitted
- Epic experience preferred
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response including Rapid Response/Code team activation
- Complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the hospital are subject to a reduced local rate
