Post-Doctoral Associate – Center for Computational and Integrative Biology, Rutgers University‑Camden
Position Summary
The Post-Doctoral Associate will investigate the co‑evolution of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and its ligand across Drosophila species. Using a combination of molecular, genetic, biochemical and computational approaches, the candidate will study how EGFR signaling levels evolved across species, conduct independent research, and participate in related laboratory projects on gene regulation and tissue patterning.
Responsibilities- Design and perform experiments using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques to validate genomic alterations.
- Employ computational methods to analyze evolutionary patterns of EGFR signaling.
- Independently develop and execute a research project, securing results for publication.
- Collaborate with the Yakoby Lab and CCIB on interdisciplinary research projects.
- Ph.D. in biology, developmental biology, molecular evolution and development, or a related field.
- Experience with genome engineering (CRISPR/Cas9) is required.
- Preferred:
Ph.D. earned within the last 2 years; prior work with Drosophila is desirable.
Minimum annual starting salary: $63,968.
