Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Camden, School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology, invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track (NTT) Research Associate position. This is a research track faculty position for one-year, and is contingent upon continued funding availability.
The successful position will lead an research program focused on elucidating the mechanisms that drive mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegeneration and aging, using cellular and animal models.
Beyond primary research, the candidate will take a leadership role in laboratory management, ensuring operational efficiency and providing mentorship and technical training to junior researchers and students.
Research-Track faculty are expected to have developed sufficient expertise and skills to contribute immediately to the research initiatives of the program they join without an expectation of significant training. Research-Track faculty may be asked to contribute to, and/or submit as principal investigator, applications for extramural funding in their research area of expertise to financially support their position.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, pharmacology or related fields.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in mitochondria and/or neuroscience and/or aging and/or protein biology (or related biomedical disciplines) is highly desired, as well as knowledge of basic cell biology, biochemistry and microscopy techniques.
